Read decent things about the IDA-X001 that's made specifically for iPod input.. no CD player. If it had the CDA-9887 TA/EQ and sound tuning features, they wouldn't be able to keep them on the shelves. Unfortunately, it's plain jane for SQ features.. but does have good dac's and excellent iPod interface.

What is your price range...almost every HU out there $250 and up support Ipod. I have an IPod hook up to my 780mp..but it **** since the IPOD will **** up once in a while (froze). If i were to look for a new HU. i go with those with built in GB where u can rip music from cd into the HU. OR else HU that support USB output which u can hook up to other MP3 player in stead of an IPOD.

but i have an ipod, and dont want anything else...

price range is wicked cheap, its for my work vehicle...and i dont much care for ripping to the internal of the HU

Look into the Alpine 9856 or 9857. I picked my 9857 off ebay for like $120. The ipod interface is about the best you can get. I run a complete stock system and got the Alpine solely for hooking up an ipod. The 9856 is identical to the 9857, just the 9857 has bio-lite display.

Plus the full speed kca-422i is only $30 brand new, and it is a single wire and no need to install a box and wire it like the Pioneer one. Much faster then the Pioneer to.
