Looking for help with my iPod and Kenwood KDC-X890

I'm using the KCA-iP500 with my deck. The problem is that I am not getting any iPod information displayed on my deck nor am I getting anything on my iPod but a check mark (its my understanding Kenwood should appear on the iPod face). I'm sure I missed something but I am stumped right now.

unplug the unit from the hu and plug it back up,and press the standby button until ext media comes up on the screen.

Mine never shows up Kenwood either, but it still works...

Yeah mine works too but I would like to be able to get the fullest out of it.

check the flip switches on the ipod control box,that has to do with your displays.
