Looking for decent SPL from two 12"s at 500rms each, any suggestions?

My amp is 1000w rms @ 1 ohm, so dual subs split power at 500 each.

I have been looking at the new type R's (currently running 1 older R @ 700watts), which leaves me room for an amp upgrade as they take 1000rms each now.

I have room for a maximum of a 4ft^3 box so i think the R's would go nicely, but will i be gaining alot of SPL if im losing 200watts from my current, but gaining another 12"? dont want to buy 2 new Type R subs @£140 ($233) each to find out that they dont make much of a difference..

Also been looking at SA-12's but they are expensive in the UK and not common to come across.

Look into ground zero or b2 over there

after looking on amazon.com, theres a chance i could get two SA-12's shipped here for less than id pay for two type R's

Otherwise i looked at both GZ and b2, and can get my hands on them easily enough, could you suggest some models roughly in the Type R price range?
