Ok so i have been shopping around for some dynamat or anything that does the same thing as dynamat. At curcuit city they cahrge 100 bucks for 20 square feet, now i know i can get it way cheaper then that. So what should i get? and where can i get it? Im looking for around 40 square feet, and i dont want to spend a shit load.

you honestly do get what you pay for when it comes to sound deadner. The cheaper stuff will work most of the time but you will need 3-4 times the amount than if you used the better stuff in the first place.

well i even notice one layer of this stuff? I am mainly concerned about the rear deck and the trunk lid and thats it. So maybe i should just get some dynamat?

If you're just going to do that then get the fat mat. You'll have plenty to do that twice and probably be able to do your driver and passenger door too.

Good god this board needs a sound deadening forum. This question comes up twice a day it seems.

Pretty soon the battle over rubber versus asphalt will start, the mentioning of Elemental Designs being a piss-poor choice for deadening products will be mentioned, which will piss off some eD fanboi's who will come to their rescue. Someone will link to sound deadener showdown. Foxpro will stun everyone with techno-speak about standing waves and absorption versus reflection versus frequency. And then everyone will come to the same conclusion as always that FatMat is asphalt, eD is a bunch of liars selling junk, SS Damp Pro is the best you can buy, and Raamat BXT is the best bang-for-your-buck option on the market today.

Sorry for the spoiler.

Don't forget Rudy and Ant.

Why have a sound deadening forum when no one understands what sound "deadener" is or does? I hope to GOD that the materials I use in my car make the sound alive, not dead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Or, should that forum be created to teach those that want to learn? But wait, who really wants to learn? Where's my spoon, I think I fell out of my mouth. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Oh, and buy FatMat because it's good cause this one guy used it and it never fell off. Wait, no...save even more and just get peal-n-seal - because it's good cause a few other guys used it and it hasn't fell off yet. No, that's not right. Here, get Damplifier Pro - it's the most best because it's thicker and heaver and heavier deadener is better. But seriously, you might as well comprimise and by some cheap *** tar-like wannabe butyl with wimpy foil because some dude has been using it for 19 years - ergo he's an expert at changing the physical laws of nature and a nice guy to boot. Kill me now............ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
