anybody have any pics of systems and what equipment they are running in an extended cab. im looking to put one in an 06 silverado and trying to come up with a couple different box designs. it always helps when you see other designs. im looking to keep the rear seat in, and im not going to take it out. it will most likely be raised 2 inches or so to give me a little extra room. i searched and found some threads on it, but they were a little older and am just looking to see if anyone has anything new or not. try to post pics with the back seat still in because thats what im looking for. any input would be appreciated.

all there is, when keeping the rear seat, is a downfire, or front fire box. Ranging from .7 to 1.1 cu.ft. Mostly for 10s and 12s. They go under the seat. But, you most likely still have to pull the seat to get the amps on the back wall.

I was working on a box for my buddies 05 extended cab silverado, not sure if you had found that old thread. Of course he would never listen to me but listened to one of the shop guys around here and I think is finally going to drop the idea of 4 12's under the back seat in an up/down firing config. However this is all after we had made the box.

Definitely look into raising the seat about 2", this should give you the room you need and not put anyone near 6' tall up into the ceiling. Its been a long time since I worked on that box or measured his truck but I think with a 2" lift you should be able to mount 12's facing foward, this will allow you to fit a good sub (higher mounting depth) Otherwise if you choose a sub(s) that has a more shallow mounting depth I would go with a downfiring configuration.

You have probably already checked it out but there are a few pics in this thread here... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197466

Also I would say this is a good candidate for some Fiberglass. When we did it in my buddies truck we used all MDF and it was a pain in the *** to try and squeeze out as much space as possible and follow the contours of the floor. Not saying it can't be done but if I were to do it again I think I would rather at least do the floor in Fiberglass.

i was going to modify it so it will fold down, and also rasie the seat 2-3" to get the extra space.
If your going to raise the seats 2-3 inches, then you'll have plenty of space depending on what subs you plan on using and what type of enclosure you shooting for.

you can also remove the middle console/seat whichever you have and build a box to fit in between the two front seats. you could easily fit 4 10's or 3 12's ported. right now i have 2 re se 12's in a console box its 4 cubes at 32 hz. before port and sub displacement i had 5 cubes to work with.

I have been doing this setup in trucks for years, when they first came out back in 1988

No need to modify anything, front or rear seats

i have amplifiers under both front seats

That sub box looks nice...

My 2001 Silverado xcab is currently in the shop getting some custom fabrication work done (sub box & some front door pods).

When I get it back this weekend I'll take some pics and post them on here...it's a downfiring box with (2) 10" TC-1000's in it
