ya i figured that.... i know there not great amps but there cheap and perfect for a project i got that i really dont want an expensive amp in... side by side .... so ya if i got one of these for dirt cheap would be ideal as last one i had lasted forever ... wasn't the best or most powerful but took a beating before it went... offroad

Onyx 4500 was my second amp. Upgraded it from my pioneer 300, 400 watt something. I noticed a significant difference in the upgrade. I was impressed then took the back of it off and noticed 2 of the 4 caps had 'volcanoed'. With only 2 working caps in the amp it still put out more than my old pioneer...

As far as boss amps go onyx would be near the top of my list.

Oh yeah I bought the amp used on ebay from some guy claiming it came from his competition car. The caps showed up ruptured, I'd like to have heard it at full power. The caps didn't burst for no reason probably a clipped .5 load
