Looking for an Efficient Subwoofer Box Design

A couple of years ago I found a page of a custom subwoofer box builder.

One of his designs was a rectangular box with a diagonal panel running on the inside that held the sub.

I remember him and customers saying that a low powered 10" sub would hit very hard in that box.

I don't remember the designer's name, nor how I found his page. If I remember correctly he was an Eastern European guy, maybe Polish, maybe Czech, who lives in the U.S. (East Coast?)

Does anybody have a clue what I'm talking about. I'd love to see the designs to those boxes. Or his webpage. Anything will help, though.

Yup, the guy from Team Toxic Bass...forgot his name too but the box you're talking about "the diagnol panel" is really called a Transmission line. This design basically eliminates back pressure, better air flow to the coil which increases thermal capacity, and forces the air out which makes a decent 10" sub sound like a 15". I'll search for his page, hopefully its still up.

Efficiency is a tradeoff, doesn't just happen without affecting other aspects of the setup...

you can't just throw any sub into any enclosure. you need a sub that has fairly specific parameters to run in a transmission line, for example. you can't make any sub efficient by building a specific enclosure. the sub is efficient or not, and the box is built around that, not the other way around.

Kind of. A t-line actually lower mechanical handling some. It's basically like a big port. It doesn't make a 10" sound like a 15", it just gets make a 10 sound good. Higher output but pretty good SQ, but a very large enclosure size.
