Looking for advice

I've been around car audio since I was an infant and I'm now 20 years old. I have only had small systems in the past and thats all I really care for. I like loud music in my car, but I have other priorities with money right now. I've got about 500-600$ that I'm looking to spend on some upgrades.

Currently I have a ported 10" box that I built myself for my DB drive Okur k5 10 that was stolen. 8gage all the way around, an MRP-M500 from Alpine and stock door speakers. Also have a Kenwood kdc mp345u that I love. Mind you this is in a 2007 Ford Fusion. I'm stuck in between upgrading the deck to a double-din with the DVD, probably the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD which would fit my budget. But I miss the bass my system had. So with 5-600 to spend what would you go for? I didn't care for my DB and it has me thinking twice about going with someone whos not mainstream like JL, RF, Alpine, Pioneer and so on. I don't want to have to spend anymore on installs, although I only have basic tools, I would like to take care of these upgrades on my own.

Subwoofer wise I have researched the 10w3v3 the 10w6v2 and the Alpine typ-rs both 10 and 12 versions. Basically, I'm just in a tough decision and I'd like some key advice from people who have been in this position before. I like loudness, without a huge lack of SQ, so Kicker is no go.

SSA Dcon 12 or 15 in a custom ported box, get one that will wire to 2 ohms so you can make full use of that Alpine. SSA subs are built here in the US and are designed with sq in mind but they will still get loud. Dcons have an under rated power handling so you can easily run more power to them without the fear of blowing it up. Im not saying you cant blow them, but they will easily handle 500-600wrms of clean unclipped power. Mainstream products carry a premium price because you have to pay for the higher costs from the increased company overhead (aka operating costs) and large marketing campaigns.

Have a custom ported box built for the Dcon and you will be very happy.

Type R's have lackluster sq and JL's are just flat out over priced unless you buy used.

I agree with this statement another good 10" would be the DD1000b costs a bit more than the DCON but if SQ is what you're looking for I prefer DD's. You should be able to get that Double DIN Touch Screen and a good 10" subwoofer that would shine on 500-600rms, building a nice box is KEY though to getting the most also I recommend a bit larger of a box than recommended due to underpowering. I know the DCON can take more than 500rms and I'm pretty sure the DD1000b will as well.
