Looking for advice.

Okay so basically from what I've been reading I've narrowed sub selection down to and AQ SDC2.512-D4, an RE SE12 D2, and an SWR 1242 D1.

Obviously I noticed that there are different numbers after the "d" in the product names. Does this suggest something about the ohms? Or something completely different altogether? For example, the RE is 600WRMS at, I'm assuming, 2 ohms. Which, I'm also assuming, means I need to find an amp which says 600WRMS @ 2 ohms.

Am I correct in trying to establish a base of knowledge in the car audio world?
