Looking For a New Sub, Current one Broke

Umm, my sub kinda broke, so i guess ill start looking for a new one.

I have up to a $200 limit on the sub, but hoping not to spend more than $160 and i got 420w rms amp to work with. Ill be makin a new enclosure so i was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions that will have more SPL as well as SQ (in your opinion) than my current sub (Infinity Kappa Perfect DVQ)

Hey whats up, im from socal too....

Im sure you will get alot of people voting for the RE SE, which is 600wrms, gives you room to upgrade ur amp later if you wished. How much space do you have to give up?? A tempest in a large low tuned box would sound awesome and still get decently loud. They run like 150 Brand new from Adire.

Help Narrow it down with a size you are looking for, type of box you are going to be putting it in....(ported, airspace etc)

well, do you want a 15...a 12, or what? I would say if you have the room run Tempest I own two and am very pleased...one gets loud enough for my ears and two is beyond what I can handle! If you buy from undergroundhighway.com you get cheaper than $150 ($135 I think) and you dont have to pay Adires outrageous shipping bill!

well, i want a 12 in my trunk, 15 too big. Since your reccomending a tempest, i guess your next reccomendation would be a Shiva???

The thing, is im not sure if it has more SPL than my current sub. From What I have been reading around this forum it has GREAT SQ.

Im also lookin at the RE SE, lol Jumpin on the bandwagon eh?

oh yea im plannin on sealed for now. Later when i go 2 subs, im gonna make ported.

quick look the bandwagons moving JUMP fast lol. Im in the same boat...I like having different stuff, but think about it...how many people have RE stuff in your area? Probably not many, It might be on the bandwagon for the forums, but in REAL REAL life its not

i would go with the SE, they can get very nice and loud especially ported, and sound great. i used to own a couple 10's myself check out gallery for pics.

HMM... in all yall opinions, how much louder is the SE than the shiva?? Cuz i herd that the shiva gets i guess, kinda loud? than the SE that gets STOOPID loud. Is the SE really worth the xtra 50 or so dollars?

Oh yea also my Amp only runs 300wrms when wired at a 4 ohm load not sure if 300 w is good nuff for a shiva, than the 420 wrms being run on the SE

Its prob a little louder since RE is more SPL and Adire is more SQ.

You would need a better amp if you got an SE
