Looking for a new headunit: Should I avoid OLED displays b/c of the short lifespan?

Hi.

I am interested in the Pioneer DEH-P5800MP:

I really like how the screen can display so much information, however, I did a bit of research on OLED displays. It appears that blue OLEDs (the ones that are in his headunit) have the shortest lifespan with approx ~10 000 hrs. This is even worse than CCFL tubes used in LCD screens.

My second choice for a headunit would be the Alpine CDE-9852:

I really like how the Pioneer has so many more functions compared to the Alpine, such as voltage monitor, aux input, 3 sets of preouts, more info displayed on the screen...ect

However, I am afraid the short lifespan of OLEDs (blue) might pose a problem for the future, and that is the only factor stopping me from buying this unit right now. So I thought maybe I'll post here. Should I go ahead and buy the Pioneer or no?

How much time a day do you spend in your car? lol

If you had the head unit on 4 hours a day, 365 days a year.. This head unit would last for approximately 7 years. [Assuming something else doesn't give before that].

Now if by 7 years you don't upgrade to some head unit that will blow all these other ones away by advancing technology, then get the Alpine haha.

I see that you have the 5800 as an option, but I found the Premier version (the 580) for $157 shipped. I could not beat the price, even for the 5800, and it doubles the warranty. It is from an authorized dealership, too.

Put it in the car and the price is $157 shipped. It arrived in just a few days, and they provided email tracking info the next day.

They are authorized and had good customer service over the phone.

Lol yea...I already decided on a different Pioneer headunit (on sale). But thanks anyways =)
