Ill start by saying ive been out of car audio for 3-4 years or so now, so I dont need the latest and greatest. Im looking for something I can "drop in", set, and not have to fool with again.
Built the current setup on somewhat of a budget about 5-6 years ago. 3 10" L7's (old school dull silver cone ones), power acoustic a3000db, 6.5 kicker ss components, and mtx ta7402.
The other day the subs randomly made a quick, fairly loud/louder than what the music was playing at thud sound and then kept to a really quiet constant rumble. Checked the amp and the protect light was on. Disconnected everything except power, ground, and remote and still no luck. Ive pulled it apart and theres no noticeable damage such as burned spots etc so im guessing one of the components is shot. No big deal, its lasted 5-6 years, although if I could figure out what the problem is and fix it that would be great. So if anyone has some suggestions feel free to toss them out there.
To the question....Being that the last time I even looked at buying this stuff was 3-4 years ago im not too sure whats considered good and bad now days. Im not exactly on a budget but would like to stick to around 300 unless I can find a good enough reason to spend more.
Ive been looking at the power acoustic bamf4000 and mtx te1501d. Any input on these 2? The power acoustic fits the budget and my needs best but I dont mind spending another $200 on the mtx if the money is well spent.
