Looking for a bit of help

Hi, So first off sorry to be that guy but I'm in need of a bit of help and researching over the web has given me multiple different answers and hoping to get a bit of knowledge from people with hopeful first hand experiences! So thank you for any feed back

Soo Ill start with that I would say I am some what knowledgeable with lower power systems in older cars. Ive installed three different set ups in my old vehicle (1998 Ford Mustang), a small system in my dads 1976 Ford pickup and two systems for my buddy for his two different jeeps (idk the year but lets just say pre 2004). Anyways nothing I've done has been using more than about 700 watts of power which was my last build in the mustang (RF P3 15" with P1000x2, along with upgrading and powering the door speakers) this is more just to say I'm not completely stupid when it comes to car audio I'm just entering an area above what I have done in the past and above what friends and co-workers have done.

I recently bought a 2017 Golf Gti and was wanting to install a subwoofer in it because I'm really just really missing that punch. Well I was wanting to get a system that I would not want to change and just keep that sub and amp combo the same over the years. So I was looking at CT sounds (reading online about mixed reviews but most seem good about the products) I was specifically looking at the new T2500.1D Amp and one Meso 15 inch sub. Now I know the Meso is rated for 1500 and I'd run it at 2ohm to get that. The reasoning behind the 2500.1 is that is $50 more than the 1500.1 and I feel it sorta future proofs me if I ever want to change vehicles and do something bigger. And if your curious I have the (AudioControl LC2i 2 Channel Line Out Converter Wwith AccuBASS) for my line out.

-Anyways some concerns I have, and would like some feedback on, CT sounds anyone with first hand experience yay nay? whats up? I had someone tell me id be better to go with Sundown or Skar but from what I can see they can't match the price point of CT sounds. ( was hoping to keep this build at or below $1k)

-Also if doing a 2500.1 do I need to upgrade the stock battery in the car? I have a cap and will be running 0GA OFC for all power and grounds.

-Subwoofer box, I was going to go to CarAudioFab, has anyone worked first hand with them? But also on the CT Sounds site they offer a box and atleast while its in my cart it says free so anyone ever tried and got one of their boxes?

So yea any advice is welcome just looking for knowledgeable people surfing the internet has gotten me sorta mixed up like I said Id rather keep this build at or below $1k and trying my best to future proof my self if I ever want to upgrade.

Thanks,

Mic

You will need an aftermarket alternator and a battery upgrade. Sell the cap because they are worthless.

500 watts of power on a solid 12 in a well designed box will shake that car apart.

I don't think a 15 will fit right.

I have all CT amps.

All have worked for well for me.

My first box I actually built was a design from CarAudioFab. Worth the money if you ask me. It was about 12 pages I think and it was just a simple slot ported box.

we have a member here uses all ct sounds amps even a 4k.. there are alot of other options., look at the fu1250 subs and ssa subs they also have some nice amps on that site in the 2-3k range..

Well thats what I'm seeing now I was there before I thought about the battery and alternator. I also have to think my car is under warranty (not the most knowledgeable on warranties but upgrading the battery and alternator and if something electrical goes wrong they may place the blame on me)

My problem is that I had the P3 15" and upgraded sound in the mustang and want to get back to atleast that if not more. Is there a rule or a number for upgraded battery and alternator? Like something to stay under to avoid buying battery and alt?
