Fi Q are nice subs, but i don't see them stacking up to an spl sub with 2kw+.
ive used many many many subs/amps. and all the "spl" based subs like the mt's, btl's, and the dd 9500's I've owned and played with sound as good as any other setup ive heard....
AS LONG AS: the box was built right, the amp isn't clipping/Xovers set right, and other install factors are good.
any "sq" difference was minimal. my btl 15 ported sounds as "clean" as 2 jl12w6v2 in a friends car. only difference is the spl sub setups with plenty of power are LOUD. only times I've heard something more "sq" is with sq oriented subs and amps with really expensive front stages and dedicated amped mid bass.
this is just my opinion. i cant tell an "sq" between spl subs with a really good install compared to smaller power handling mid level subs. "sq" for the most part comes down to if the install is done right.
