Looking for 2-ohm bridgeable amp??

I am looking for a 1400+ watt 2 ohm bridgeable amp. When i look at amps I cannot tell if they are 2ohm bridgeable or not. Does anyone know of any decent ones? Would this work... ?

no that will not work... it only can be bridged at 4 ohms.... what subs are you running and we can help you better? looks like u need something that does 700x2 @ 4 ohms.... or 1400x1 @ 2 ohms

Is there a particular reason that you want a two channel amp that bridges to 2 ohms? You would probably be better served with a mono amp that makes the power that you want at 2 ohms instead. Something like the Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 or the JBL BP1201 can be had for a good price and will suit your needs most likely.

If you must have a two channel amp that can be bridged to 2 ohms, good luck finding one. They are not that common. You would need a 2 channel amp that is 1 ohm stereo stable and makes 700Wx2 @ 1 ohm to give you 1400x1 @ 2 ohms. There just aren't that many amps around that can do that.

What subs are you trying to run?

I have 2 12" Rockford Fosgate HE2s. I dont really care if its bridged at 2ohm or not. I just want to have an amp that will sufficiently power my subs, and for a good price. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I agree, why not just get a 1ohm stable amp and wire those 2 subs in parallel then to eachother in parallel. Did you have a certain brand in mind? Or a certain amount of money you wanted to spend?

I think those are dual 2-ohm, so 2 of them could be wired to 2-ohms. You will have a lot of trouble finding a 2-channel amp that is bridgeable to 2-ohms, look for a mono (1-channel) amp that is stable to 2-ohms.

The Hifonics Brutus amps put out power at 1-ohm, so I don't think you couldn't get the full potential of that to your subs if they are 2-ohm DVC.

Yeah i didnt realize they were dual 2 ohms wiring them like i said would get you .5 ohm, wire them in series then in parallel to eachother and thats 2 ohm. They are 400rms a piece, the brutus should be fine for those subs.

I assumed that they were dual 4ohm but then i did soem searching and saw some of the sites had the specs at dual 2 ohm voice coil so i thought i was wrong about the 4ohm. But on rockford site they have them as dual 4ohm and dual 2 ohm.

JBL BPX1100.1

Although its only rated for 1100wRMS, it will push more like 1300-1400w RMS through a 4 ohm load.

Not sure on the ohm load just look on back of the magnet. And i had good results from MTX a good 2 ohm stable amp, i prefer Autotek myself a good 1 ohms stable amp. And also Precision Power make good amps.

I looked on the back of the magnet, and my subs are 4 ohm. What is a good amp under $300 that will sufficiently power my subs?
