Looking at getting a head unit

I'm looking at getting a head unit. What would you guys recommend? Looking to spend around $400. So I know I probably have lots of choices. But if anyone has a Alpine 9833 or 9835, i'll be glad to take it off your hands, but has to be in working condition.
