Is it just me, or does the top plate on these look a bit different that the HDC3?

I'm betting different spider's and other soft parts as well.

I think it looks cheap and tacky...maybe just my opinion though. The HDC 18's don't have it though, and look MUCH better IMO.

I actually think it looks really clean. How are those tacky?

Just looks bad to me. It also screams "we skimp on our glue and are forced to stitch the surronud to make sure it doesn't separate." Again, just the way I look at it.
