Look what I got bishes

Hdc3 subs laugh at 2000 watts. Each of his subs are now seeing around 1500 watts give or take a few.
I would not call that extremely underpowered. and the SAZ 3000d can put ot way more than 3000w, closer to 4000w at 0.5 ohms and then it gets crazy with higher voltages:eek:

we simply don't have enough information to make a call on this one.

your retarded. where did you learn that hes only giving 1500 to each sub? from a SA 3000d ?

You have no info to support your caus.

if hes at 13 amps running at .5 hes pushing almost 4200

that gives 2100 each not 1500 each

guess we have to wait

you must be wrong it says 3000d, which is 3000 watts, of class D power. if it says 3000 watts how can it put out more?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I am sure he is running the amp at 1ohm.

The sundown is capable of alot more power output with proper input voltage. With his electrical I am sure he is seeing right at 3000 true rms watts at 1ohm

So do you think his AQs were seeing 2 ohms or 0.5 ohms each?

I personally think with the info given that they were seeing 2ohms each, therefor netting less power than the 3000d and using less power also, hence the lower voltage drop with the AQs

cant believe people still think that because you have more watts its all of a sudden going to be much louder...
it has a lot to do with power, but you don't want to much power or the subs arnt going to be as stable and put out a nice clean crisp sound... same with under doing it...

his 3000d is probably nice on them subs.

you do need an ho tho.
I really dont follow this logic, at all. You are suggesting that less wattage, to the otherwise exact same setup, could result in more output because the watts are 'nicer' to the subs?
Just to keep things in context... 3000 watts at 14.4 volts would be over 200 amps of current being pulled. And that is assuming 14.4 volts (reality will be less) and 100% efficiency (again reality being less). So unless I missed where he said his stock alt was like a 160+ and/or he said he had a bank of batts, arguing over if he's getting 3000 watts, or 4200 watts, or 10 billion watts... is pretty pointless.

The main obvious point is that with the same subs, if he's now at 1 ohm, he either had both aq2200s at .5 or both at 2 ohms and I highly doubt he had both 2200's at .5 each...if he's now at .5, and his electrical starts to turn into nothing but heat beyond around 3-3.5kw, then the two 2200's at 1 ohm would likely put out around the same as the 3kd at .5...if it's the first case, then we're comparing about 2600 iirc from both 2200's to a good chunk over 3k out of the 3kd.

You and Audioholic make valid points, and I can now see why the SAZ could be louder than the AQs. Thanks for clarifying

Hey guys just to fill everyone in, my AQ's were strapped @ 2 ohms (1 ohm load on each amp) and my Sundown is at .5 but i'm over 1 ohm after impedance rise.

My voltage was pretty good on the two AQ's, I never dropped below 13~. And it was pretty loud.

Once I swapped the amps I noticed a HUGE increase in loudness, and my voltage is in the mid 12's so its nothing too dangerous.

Yes I know i'm running a stock alt, but I should be buying a 250a alternator Saturday if all goes well. I will not be cranking it until I get my alternator.

Congrats on the amp. I might do a 3000D in my next build.

Do you feel like you are extremely underpowering your subs?
Only when the amps are turned off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They do take the 3k each no problem as I rarely listen very loud and mostly play rock/metal, so no insane lows with some idiot going "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
