they are sweet lil subs...my rl-i is in .17ft^3 sealed doing some duty as the sub in my boy's bookshelf system.
mine does have a custom cone....something about being the first rl-i NOT a prototype....

no its bigger than recommened.Thats a great looking sub... Is that 1.3 cubes the recommended box from Soundsplinter?
What amp are you gonna use? I was thinking about an RLi-8 in a .5 sealed box, with about 500watts, now I might take aported box better...
hm...yours has the the taller surround than mine...and it has a mounting gasket
****.
mine is from the first run of rl-i8's and is actually rl-i8 number 1 sold to the public. so there are a few differences.
the rl-i8 loves 1.25ft^3 tuned to 36hz with about 500wrms. loud and low, i really enjoyed playing it in that box. but in reality, somewhere in the 1ft^3 range tuned about the same would be plenty big.
for a small single sub setup in a hatch, the rl-i8 would be a great choice. probably won't set any db records, but would indeed add a great deal of good clean bass to a system.
