I am looking to make a rectangular shaped box for the trunk of my car. Dimensions would be something like 30" across, 7-10" deep and about 15" tall. Can I use acrylic or plexiglass on the 30"x15" panel that is viewible and mount the sub on this panel. If this is possible, how thick would it need to be and would I need special screws to mount a sub on an acrylic panel.

you'd have more luck doing a plexi insert. look at http://www.selectproducts.com for ideas on how thick plexi can get. Local glass shops ought to have plexi too though.

special screws, no, pre-drilled, yes. You could use threaded inserts and bolts.

Just put this inside my trunk, box was built by moe lester. I installed the pexi last night, i think im going to use tnuts in case i have to remove it later. Thats what i used to mount the sub.

****, that thing fills up your whole trunk.

BTW, I thought that you didnt want the sub facing the back seat, maybe its preference but I always see them facing the rear of the car.
