Local BB getting ~ 60 PS3's

I can only think of 1 game that even compares to any of these games in popularity and it barely does anyways. Halo is the only console game in the past 10 years that is even anywhere near as popular as those computer games.

I have never looked at #'s but I gotta think the Madden series is up there in sales EACH YEAR...not counting TOTAL sales from every year combined.

Well, that has more to do with your location. Around here (northern Alabama) EB's are quoting about 10-20, wal-mart says about 20, and most other stores are in the same category.

Sony must really be short. My woman got to play one a few months back at a big conference (shes the electronics dept manager) and they promissed that their store was getting ALOT of them in for launch date, but they recieved only 10! they called around to all the other area wal-marts in the area, and they got the same or less.

Sony is only doing this because of the rage over the 360

how in the **** can anyone buy this overpriced shit. as far has being better than 360..not. it was gonna be until they decided to use a 7800gtx for the video card. my pc im on now is better than that. the games look like shit. all are on par or wrost than 360

I think this time around, Microsoft used their money and played the smart card. They released before Sony and have a much bigger base already. Not to mention the fact that a lot of Sony's old companies are switching to the 360 platform, Square-Enix anyone?

Also 360 graphics processor owns Ps3 graphics processor.

Sony is known for showing movies that seem like they are gameplay and try to market it as the game. usually these commercials have really like 5 seconds of combined gameplay and you can't really see much of anything. Xbox 360 games usually do a good job in the commercials of showing you what the game actually looks like. I mean FF12 for ps2 has some great looking CG scenes in the commercial, but how much gameplay is their really? none, because ps2 doesn't have the graphics nowadays to draw people in.

I must say though after seeing a few real time ( actual gameplay ) vids of alan wake and 2 days to vegas, they look amazing, But the developers of these games need to start using the full potential of these systems, 360 at least, since its already been out for a year, they should have a general idea by now, of its capabilities.. But my jaw did drop after seeing the Alan Wake preview, heres an older link i started on it

I just fail to see the attraction for buying something on its release date, when in six months the price would have fallen/bugs fixed/probably better aftermarket support, etc...

also the price isn't gonna fall anytime soon. the 360 is still at the same price it was when it was released a year ago.

You do realize the PS3 will have Hi def dvd player right. Go buy a toshiba Hi def DVD player and it will cost you 1 grand.

Just an FYI. PS3 will not incorporate HD-DVD support. It will incorporate Bluray Movie support. The 360 is in the HD-DVD camp.
