You never did say what the rated power of you deck is. If it is high power it will make a difference. And checking the input to the amp with a meter will most likely answer your questions.

The deck is a Pioneer 4700mp. From what I recall, I believe it's a 2.2v preout.

I have a strong feeling something is screwed up with the wiring. Not with the wiring harness to the deck, but something farther in the car before the harness point.

For testing, I'm going to plug the RCAs into my gf's head unit in her car and turn both vehicles on to see what kind of input I can get from MY old deck in HER car.
