LOC = bass. No LOC = poo. Help? *cry* p.s. - long story

CJ is just mad he is a mexican, ignore all his posts.
Soon, the mods will ban him. Of the 9,000+ posts he has, 98% of them just piss people off.
My thanks go out to you for the heads up. There's one on every forum you go to, I suppose. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Might anyone have any insight?

if you have a buddy thats willing run your rcas from his hu to your trunk or wherever the amp is. if you have a dmm test the rca outs on the deck.
Nah, to be honest all of my friends are just running stock head units with some bigger speakers. I'm pretty much a loner in my group of friends as far as car audio goes.

I went to Circuit City to pick up a hard drive and figured I'd try my chances at asking the car audio department there. Given, Circuit City has its reputation, but this particular one I respect more than others due to the fact many of them have flat out told me not to buy certain items, wait till this is on sale, you can get it cheaper online with a longer warranty, etc.

They were stumped as hell. The guy I spoke to immediately asked if I had adjusted my settings after putting the deck in. After explaining I had a JVC G710, same sh*t happened, and returned it for the Pio4700mp, he was stumped as hell.

Once I get home (at college now) I'm going to just put the LOC in and call it quits.

*cries* This thing is a royal pain to figure out.

do you have a dmm??? just check the voltage coming out of the hu. then check the voltage coming out of the loc.
No I don't. How much would a cheap one run me?

Also, do DMM's check the signal strength of cable internet connections/tvs? I've been looking for something to check the strength of my cable lines as well...

what kind of amp is it? check and see if it has an input level SWITCH... not the input level dial... but some amps have a switch... see if when you plug ur rca's without the LOC and flip the switch see if that helps it out

Tsunami DB1100.

The only switch I recall seeing was the master/slave switch, which was used when strapping multiple DB1100's together.

Alright, question.
1. HOW can my amp be broken if it works perfectly with the line output converter?

2. HOW can my RCA's be bad if it works perfectly with the line output converter?
Traditionally, RCAs that go to the amp are directly from the headunit.

A line-out converter is used when those RCAs are not present; One end of the LOC is connected to high-level inputs (like speaker leads on your factory speakers) and the other end outputs to the amp; Correct?

So, how can you rule out the RCAs?

Scenario One: no bass

HU---------rca----------AMP

(if amp and hu is fine, RCA is to blame)

Scenario Two: good bass

HU---------spkrleads---LOC--AMP

(what's missing from this equation? the rcas)

Am I way off, here?

the LOC converts the high-level out put of the H/U to a lower RCA type voltage to plug RCA's into your amp.

H/U (high-level)-----LOC---RCA----AMP

I believe that is correct.

maybe when your first H/U went out it somehow weakened the sensetivity of your amp so your not sending enough power to it with just the Line-outs of the H/U now.. and the LOC bumps up the signal to over come the disfunction.. try another amp
