sooo, are these supposed to be SPL machines, or more SQ like the past RL subs. And one more thing. Whats the difference in TC sounds vs. Soundsplinter...same thing? RL-s is the LMT right? no? Please explain if im wrong, because this is what im interpreting.

SQ subs that can get loud while maintaining their accuracy....all out SPL I don't know how they'd. But for music listening they'll have more output than you'd ever need.

Um...everything. Soundsplinter is a brand just like Alpine, Incriminator Audio, Eclipse, etc etc.

TC Sounds is a buildhouse and just builds the subs for them. Just the same as TC Sounds builds subs for Eclipse, Incriminator Audio, Stryke/Acoustic Elegance, etc etc. And just the same as DST builds some speakers for Alpine.

The Rl-s uses a technology called Linear Motor Technology (LMT for short), just the same as the Brahma and XXX use a technology called XBL^2

However, TC Sounds produced some early prototype subwoofers that also used the LMT technology...and, since they were proto's they were never officially given a name, people just called them "LMT". And some people, for this reason, are calling the Rl-s an "LMT" aswell...even though that's not it's name, just the technology it uses.

very nice, very nice, thanks. Now my next question is. are these supposed to out-perform the Eclipse TI's. As in I have 2 15" TI's on the way (that I dont have to buy yet) Do you think Id be happier with the RL-s's, at about 1300-1500 watts each

who knows, the subs haven't really come out yet.

although these are supposed to be the first subs from TC sounds to use LMT(aside from the protos).

I'm looking forward to the reviews from the ring...

i know they are not out yet really, or just came out. The problem is though, Ive been impatiently waiting for the last month and a half to find something I like, and if these TI's come in within the next 2 weeks, ill probably just get them, unless I decide to make a rash decision and get the RL-s's, but im kinda worried to do that just because there are no reviews on them.

The Eclipse Ti is based on the 3HP technology.

LMT > 3HP in terms of musical capabilities. It gets louder and sounds better.

Keep in mind, that I am talking about the protos that I have had, not the RL-s production model.

Well, speaking theoretically about what this woofer is supposed to be capable of......The Rl-s should sound better (ultra flat BL, less distortion, etc) and get louder (more linear displacement) than the Eclipse Ti's.
