So, I got a new car, and I had a set of speakers from my last car that I put in the car. They all worked, except for one, it's a Clarion, not sure what model, but when I wired that speaker up I noticed something strange, if I hooked the positive and negative up, there was no sound from any of the speakers, but if I only hooked the positive up, there was sound from the other three, and just a little from that speaker. I even tried the negative to the positive and that worked the same as positive to the positive.
Then I replaced my head unit, I had to get three different ones before I got one that worked, and the speaker problem was the same, I'm getting almost no sound from that speaker, and if I hook up both wires all four speakers go out. As far as I know, with both wires hooked up to the stock speaker it worked fine, was the same volume as the rest, but with this other speaker I'm having problems.
I was just wondering what you thought about it, I didn't know the speakers would work with only one wire connecting it. I looked, and from what I can see the wires aren't crossed or anything, but then I'm not about to take about the car to see the whole wire to check it. Is it a problem with the speaker you think? Should I just get another one, or does anyone have an idea as to how to fix it? Also, I don't think it really makes a difference but the speaker hole is for a 4x6 and I put a 5x8 in it's spot. It's secured down to where it doesn't move, and I don't think it's touching anything really. I did notice when I roll that window all the way down, when I try to roll it down more it makes a strange kind of buzzing noise out of the speakers, so maybe the speaker is in the way of the window.
Thanks for all your help in advance, and if you need any other information let me know.
