little disc that came with my recone

its 3 inches wide and has like a cross stamped into it. asked lilmaniac about it on aim and said that it might be something to help strengthen the cone since im using a full size dustcap. is this true? is it detrimental that i use it, cuz im pretty sure its lost somewhere lol

isnt that the piece that goes on top on the VC? a cap kind of

yeah it looks like it would go there. you think i should really look for it and use it or..?

it's a stiffening disc, it adds strength to the cone, it should be used.

what type of a sub is it? does it have a large inverted dustcap? like the re sx or re xxx etc? if so it plugs the top of the voice coil former so the inverted dc doesnt get popped off

+1. Glue it on top of the vc former (it slides right over) and continue with your recone.
