Well finaly decided how I want to mount at least one of my amps! I'm going to take advantage of where the tire jack goes and make a fiberglass enclosure to mount the amp in that spot.

The start of this little experiment with the panel out of the car and into my shop

(That hole has a cover that wasn't in the photo)

Now time for a little tape action

Now although everyone always uses chopped fiberglass mat I wanted to use the fiberglass cloth first because I personaly believe its much easier to have lay down flat and then use as a good adhesive base for the chopped mat

Thats all the pictures I'll load for now... More will be comming in the afternoon of the shell being out of the panel and then starting on trimming and making the cover for the amp.

The amp will be a Diamond D3 2 channel for my fronts which i'll soon be replacing with most likely the SLC's and will be re-working my front doors when I do that also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

Looks good.

Nice Jammin buggy too.
thanks, and yeah the Jammin is pretty nice.

lookin good so far...hard to tell how big it is, but could you fit a sub in there if you wanted to?
I could if i wanted to but my SX would need more room and it loves being ported so I have another idea for that which I might start this weekend

Here are a few more pictures. I will be posting more later on tonight when I get the chance.

Here is the mold once it was popped out of the panel baking under the lamps

Notice how smooth the fiberglass cloth laid out

The overall idea is finally being realized. Today I will start with the sanding, filling, sanding, primer and then might start laying down the basecoat. If I don't get to the basecoat tomarrow definately on monday. Should have it in clearcoat and back in the car by tuesday.

I'm shocked that there arn't any flames or anyone pointing out stuff that I did wrong!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Camera battery is dead more pictures once its charged.

Cool, I have a P5 and was debating on doing something similar.

I have to figure out how to shove an 18" RE SX in there.

I was wondering have you found a way to get around the 85amp alternator?

I tried calling some companies to build me a HO alternator and they said that they can't do it right now due to the ECU regulating power supply.

I was going to do some testing with it but considering the alternator is tucked litterally underneath the motor it seems like a headache to even fool with it.

Also check out this thread, someone did something similar to that with subwoofers. http://chris.pfharlock.com/glass/

Looks good so far, waiting to see updates.
