Little advice..

This is my first post on here, so let me start by saying hey. I am Colin, 18, drive a 2000 F150xlt, and it is my baby. Any ways, I just recently got rid of my old little 8" P1 in a bazooka tube, and upgraded for a 12" P3. Got the P3 already boxed and slightly used for $50, didn't think it was a bad deal (if it was, let me know). Any ways, I had a little 300 watt amp powering the P1, but I don't feel that it is doing the P3 justice.

What would be a decent amp to get that would push the P3 to what it should be pushed to? No reason to have a 12" sub and not use it, right?! Let's say money isn't a huge deal, christmas is coming, and I am sure I will have some extra change after the holidays.

P.S. I am a very new noob to car audio, so please, take it easy on me. :p

No dimensions, I can go measure it tomorrow morning. Too lazy to do it right now. :p and I bought it used, and wasn't told about the voice coils, any way to find out on the sub?

Pull the sub out, and see if it says 4ohms DVC/or 2ohms DVC, or 4ohms, and write down the model # as well, helps out so much. There should only be like 8-12max screws to take out, to pull the sub out.Just write the info/ as much info you can/model #, and this will determine what ohms value you need to get the max performance out of that sub/power wise, excluding the prefabbed box:D

this ,but the woofer will take 500 watts rms ,but we need to know the coil config.

Alright gentlemen, sorry about the wait, christmas shopping today after school was quite hectic. I happened in to my local Dr. Dashboard (from what I am told they are knowledgable, but over priced) I just went for the knowledge. He recommended a Kenwood KAC8105D he had on "sale" for 199.99. I haven't checked comparable prices though, and I only have his recommendation saying it would work.

Any who, sorry about blabbering. I took out my sub, and read on it the following:

P312D4

Dual 4 ohm (whats ohms?)

500 watts RMS (translate?)

1000 watts PEAK (translate?)

The wires that were going to either side of the speaker said "Stinger" if that means anything.

1st that amp they rec.is crap.2nd 500 rms is what fosgate recommends for power and max is what they say the woofer will take at the most for a very minimal time[not to be done tho] so fine an amp that does 500 watts rms at 2 ohms and your set .unless you want a little more so that you can add another woofer or upgrade later
