I have an 02 ***** Am and I have an LOC in it already, it is a PAC SNI-35. It came with the car when I bought it. The problem I am having is that when I turn the volume up, the sub cuts out, I played with the adjustments but couldn't get it to work. I don't have directions so I am not sure where to put the adjustments. It is a monsoon system. Also, my friends Caddy does the same thing. Has anyone else had these problems?

It could be any number of about 28479283 different things.

If you have absolutely no clue what the problem is and don't have any info other than that you have an LOC and no clue how to use it, what do you expect us to offer you?

I was told that my LOC is a low power one and I need one that can support more watts from my head unit. I bought a new battery and hooked up my capacitor and everything seems to be working fine..

...that is until you turn the volume up and your system draws more current than the system can provide? Possibly. You could just be running out of power flow, or have a faulty connection somewhere. Double check voltages and connections. When I killed my battery, and needed a jump to start my car, I tested out my radio, and monitored the voltage on my HU. The system had 9-10v, while cutting in and out, and at anything higher in vol. the car would shutoff.

the voltage that the LOC puts out might be too much for the amp's input to handle. Im not exactly sure what would be the best way to fix it but play around with the gain/input sensitivity.

IF changing your voltage capacity with a new battery in your car made that much difference, that battery is going to die just like the other one with or without the capacitor unless you upgrade the alt. If the alt was strong enough to begin with you wouldn't need a new battery. The capacitor can only charge in spurts it cannot hold steady voltage, that's the alt's job.
