This may sound like a really dumb question but i have never done one before and my gf doesnt have the money for a HU right now so im going to just do a LOC for the time being and im curious HOW do you hook one up to the amp? do you still need the power and ground wires or not? All my audio installs have used after market HU so im completely in the dark on this. Also i dont have one yet for her so im just curious how it is installed thats why im asking.

you tap into your rear deck speakers with the LOC, or stock sub. Then you run the RCA cables from the LOC to the amp....

What kind of vehicle is it? If it's anything with bose or other amplified system you'll have to catch the wries at the amp.

its just a 03 alero so nothing fancy for a stereo. What do i need to tap in to the speakers in the back deck and can you just go out and by like 3 ft of rca as well?

you just strip back some of the rear speaker wire and solder onto it. And yes, just buy some short rca's and you'll be fine
