Line Driver?

it doesn't increase db's. it just sends more voltage to your amp, so you don't have to turn up your gains. this way, the gains will be down and it has to work less to amplify the signal. what does this mean? less noise interferences and your amp will run cooler.

 
well with increased voltage you can gain serious SQ and lower noise interference, but you can gain some SPL with the raised signal voltage because the amp has more signal to amplify, I added and Audio Control Overdrive and was very very happy with the results, well worth the money if you have it at the time
