ok some 1 told me to get a line driver because my radio has 2 pre-amp outputs that are 2.2volts and im running to sub amps of the sub pre-out and a 4ch from the full range out put, i was told that i will have a huge increase in sound kinda like a bass boost the line driver i wana get is on sale at sounddomain for 120 bucks ots 9.5volts rms but do i really need 1? i mean im runnin the 2sub amps of the 1 sub out put so each amp is only gettin like 1 volt, but my friend hook his radio up to my setup and he has 4.5volt out puts and it slammed the hell out my setup it sound atleast twice as loud and thats with a really shity box that my subs are in well any info you can provide would be great, and another question how good are VENTED BOXES compared to ported i have ported not and each sub is on a 2..0foot box ports are about 14in long and there are 2 ports in each box, i think it sounds like crap all midbass and sometimes i get some nice deep bass hits but that rare and i tried seal and it sucked to so vented is my last hope, the setup im running is:

pioneer premier6400

4 kenwood 5x7s

4ch 360watt kenwood amp

2 12 rf power hx2s {crappy 2.0ported box}

2 1000 interfire class d amps {1050wts rms each}

and 2caps.

Line drivers are primarily for sound quality use, or to boost the preamp voltage to the point where the amplifier can be utilized to it's full potential (if the preamp voltage is too low). 2.2V should be enough to drive most amplifiers to their full potential. A line driver will get rid of some of the background hiss that many speakers have, however, this can also be remedied through a cleaner install (Including well shielded RCA's etc).

Get a 5v premp output cd player and then get a whole shit load more of potenial outta your amp.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

they are more of a personal preferance, when I first had one It was hard to get used to the sound on some of the songs, but then it really grew on me. to bad someone stole it along with the soundstream amps, crossover, hu & changer:mad:
