limewire help

the computer problems i tell ya. I just downloaded lime wire and a message comes up when i try to open it. It says''Limewire was unable to innitalize and start.This is usually do to a firewall program blocking limewires access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow lime wiere to access the internet and restart limewire''. I turned off my norton anti virus. What should i do

try again. or go to start, control panel, windows firewall and see from there.

Start > Run > 'msconfig'

Startup Tab > Disable All

Services Tab > Hide Microsoft Services [check the box] > Disable any leftover services

Apply, Okay - reboot.

did both of those and still no lucky but i did not do the reboot part i just put all the settings back to the way they were. Any other ideas? its talking about ports i have ares downlaoded to would this make a differncE?

Sounds like something is blocking its access..router, or some software firewall..

start>programs>accessories>command prompt>format c:>enter>y>enter

now all your problems will be gone

Funny, because diong the reboot is PART OF THE INSTRUCTIONS.
