Boom to weight ratio question again...

I'm going to be putting a system in my Porsche 924 (like a 944)

The number 1 concern- weight (only a 4 popper in there)

The number 2 concern- power consumption (want to keep stock alt)

The number 3 concern- cost

I'll have a 4ch amp, 4 Kenwood Excelon 5.25s and a HU. Then I'd like a sub amp combo that weighs as little as possible while in the box. I like SQL, more "feel" than noise... Looking to partially trade my 15" mk 2 Bhrama for the end product... Past suggestions- 2 8" RL-i's, 1 10" bhrama, 1 10" MTX 9500 series... i am wide open to suggestions.

What do you think?

Welcome back LCV. Though it may not be suggested to do this, you could pull the aluminum heat sink off the top of the amp and run fans across. Cover the amps with plexiglass for protection from the elements. The EU700 is a redesigned eD EU650 made for lower bass tones. You could classify the speaker as a sub or a midbass sub but not a replacement for a midranged woofer. If you like the feel more than the hear, you'll want to go larger speakers in a fiberglassed box. I would stick with at least two 8s or two 10s. I would also go the sealed route, but that's up to you. Sealed would give you a smaller box which translates to less weight.

Holy smokes that lil EU700 is sweet!

only 50 bucks... Daym son, makes me wanna get 4 of em! IDK if they will work tho, gotta have the feel. Def an idea though!

I know I'm gonna need to fiberglass, spr0ket, but it's WHAT i'm gonna put in there. In the past I've had subs dropped in front of me and I worked with what I had, now I have a choice... And don't know what to do. Any more ideas?

They are somewhat reasonable (the smaller ones) for the output that they have i suppose...

I don't see anyone else with too many brite ideas.

I guess this kind of stumps me because I'm used to having fat *** 100+ lb setups and not worrying about it...

The 8W7s are heavy sons of btches. Those suckers are 17Lbs each. However, I've got two of them and absolutely love them. $270 is a good deal for sure. I was able to get mine at $315 certified though, but your choice. A single 8W7 does get pretty **** loud though for a single 8. Has the pressure of a SVC RF P2 12" sub with loads more sound quality.

Thanks for the input sprocket. I'll have to harass the local dealer for some prices. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Its a good idea to have the warranty i suppose.
