Lights on 9/11

i know what ya mean and i understand it. Its just messed up and we should try more to keep illegals out. I mean we can have 50 billion soldiers in iraq for no reason but we cant keep illegals from jumping a fence?

It is far cheaper to enact laws that punish those who employ illegal aliens. Give employers prison time instead of fines.

And we have our first winner of the "devolution of thread to conspiracy theory horseshit" award....
Ahh the interwebs... bringing conspiracy theories into 9/11 threads is like suggesting Audiobahn for an SQ build...
It's no conspiracy theory: it's empirical evidence. I don't necessarily think that the US directly ordered the attack (although that is possible) but I do believe that they used it as an excuse for their own gains. Be careful to avoid being so anti-conspiracy theory that you avoid the truth as well. The only things we really know are our opinions and interpretations of events.

There is enough money/economic power to feed all the children in the world and then bomb them to bits... isn't progress wonderful?
Or are you to emo to appreciate that we can do both?
Sure we can do both; don't recall arguing otherwise. What I DID argue for is acceptance that there are bigger tragedies on the planet than a plan crashing into a building.

Emo has nothing to do with it. This is possibly the worst use of the term "emo"...and I've seen a lot of them.

Ohhh Matt, so freakn ignorant on the world problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif maybe i think like a canadian but I agree with Punk on every fact.
I don't think this has much with my being Canadian; I will, however, say that I believe Canadians are generally more open-minded. Glad you agree, though.

I would rather see it back in the hands of the taxpayer and let them decide to feed those children if they see fit, but that is another story altogether.
You make a very valid point. The job of a government should be to serve it's own people, so if the money is in the hands of the taxpayer, they can do as they see fit, rather than the government using the money to fulfill their own personal agenda. Touche.

1. Deflation ftl...I gues syou can call it negative inflation2. Adam Smith ftl....I mean, he's only one of the most influential economists to ever live. The greed of our citizens is the reason we are a super power today...caring for comrads doesn't help the stock price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It's true that it doesn't help the stock price, but you're implying that financial success for a few is more critical than social and international success for all. Not sure I agree with you on that one.

I'm just going to roll my eyes at this one...
It is quite easily proven. No need to roll your eyes.

Umm if you where willing to work in the fields, or in construction, working as hard as they do then you'd probably have a job...

Of course getting educated removes the illegal immigrant population as competition for labor...

Your personal job hunt experience doesn't translate into a nationwide macroeconomic condition...
Well at least we agree there.

It's true that it doesn't help the stock price, but you're implying that financial success for a few is more critical than social and international success for all. Not sure I agree with you on that one.
It's easier to quantify financial success than social success. We each have an opinion of social success. That is why those with financial success should fund the social goods they see fit and the method they see fit.

If you are a billionaire and love animals...buy 100,000 acres of farmland for the animals to roam. Love kids....ship them tons of food, clothing and books...love space...create collaborative efforts to visit moon, Mars, etc.

What are you talking about??? people are making more money than they where 20 years ago... Are you blind, stupid, or just a sheeple to some assinine blog?...
um, yeah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif..obviously, people are making more money than 20 years ago..

No, we need them to legally emigrate. They are here because there is a demand for their labor... but having them here illegally is not a good thing......
Thank you for stating the obvious. Yes, it would great for them to pay their dues. The solution to illegal immigration is simply putting a jail sentence or a huge fine for employing them. The buisnesses will no longer be able to pay shit wages for labor allowing americans to labor for a living, which is what this country was built upon.

People are making more money, but their dollar doesnt go as far. My grandfather was a prison guard for 40 years, had 4 kids and a stay at home wife and had a decent quality of life..Do you think a prison guard today can support a 4 children household with a stay at home wife? 2 cars, insurance, home note, etc etc? sorry, not happening.

I'm just going to roll my eyes at this one...
*thumbs up*

edit:
