IMO they should of just re-developed the whole 9/11 site instead of wasting all that prime real estate. The real tribute would be for new workers to get in there in a new trade complex and make some cold hard american cash again.

It's easier to quantify financial success than social success. We each have an opinion of social success. That is why those with financial success should fund the social goods they see fit and the method they see fit.
If you are a billionaire and love animals...buy 100,000 acres of farmland for the animals to roam. Love kids....ship them tons of food, clothing and books...love space...create collaborative efforts to visit moon, Mars, etc.

But surely you and I agree that everyone deserves to eat. Obviously I am saying this intentionally being blind to the natural greed that drives everyone...even myself sitting here earning money for my future ventures rather than shipping things to those who need it. I'm being very idealistic, and I can admit that.

They all deserve to have food available, yet. Deserve for someone to put it in their mouth, no.

However, you know as well as I that shipping a case of food to Africa is worthless is the government burns it to keep the people oppressed. Until the government changes, that isn't the highest and best use of resouces now is it?

just like putting unexperienced early 20yo kids into high seats of offfice in Iraq is an attempt to insite more chaos...to lauch more tow missiles to make more $$$

Point 2 directly relates to Point 1. In North America, we can put the food in our own mouths. In the case of Africa (though it's far from the only impoverished natino), it is substantially harder for reasons beyond but including what you mentioned.

I believe that Socialism is a very good concept and I would love to see it in practice, but I also understand the natural greed that makes Socialism fail. I don't think I'm socialist; I would say I try to view everything with a Secular view (both in a religious and non-religious context) while trying to take in as much from each viewpont as possible. There are no real answers out there; just different interpretations.

I would like to see statistics of who is unemployed, based on race, age, and ***. Then I would like to see statistics of what states have how many percent unemployed...

Age, the youngest (16-19) is the highest and then about the same the rest of the time...
