I just installed my new system last night which consists of (2) 10" Arc Audio D4's powered by a Directed 2400 (1200x1) Cadence 5.25 MMX Comps powered by an Alpine MRP-F240 (40x4). This was all installed in a 92 Chevy Pick-up Truck with a stock alternator and stock battery.
Now my lights dim horribly when a big bass note hits, my voltage meter literally drops all the way down when it hits but it shoots right back up when the note is over.
I did the big 3 using 4 gauge wire and I have 4 gauge wire running to everything. I was told that 4 gauge wire was good enough for my system. Im thinking about upgrading all of my wire to 1/0 but its pretty costly and it would almost cost me just as much to buy a new alternator or battery.
Thanks
