I don't know what my next step should be. Here's the set up: 1 RE SE/X12D4, Treo 750.1 Amp, HC600 Battery and I just ran 0GA wire to try and help. I drive a 2006 Trailblazer SS and I can't get rid of these dimming lights. A local shop here that's very reputable said he can order me a 225 amp alt. for $310. I don't know if I should do this or get a bigger battery. I just don't understand how 750RMS can cause this much trouble. I'm leaning on all you audio guru's out there. Any advice is greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

wow... I was running over 2K rms on a stock alt with just the big3 and didn't have much dim, if any...

have you done the Big3? I assume you have but you didn't say so I have to ask... I am no electrical expert but I don't think the wire size going back to your amp with effect the dimming at all. you need to upgrade your alternator and ground wires to 1/0, also there is a nice 200A+ alt you can get for like $100. I will dig it up really quick if I can find it again. Not 100% sure it will work for you but I know it is GM alt and works on a TON of different GM's so...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that i have done the big 3. However, I only used 4 GA wire for that as it was done a while back. I still can't see it making that much difference going from 4 to 0.

better ground in rear, Big 3 under hood,, and I would add a 2nd batt
I've thought about that but I just can't understand why I'd need it with 750 watts. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It is an AC Delco AD244... tested one and got 225A~ at engine idle (700rpm) when cold then dropped down to a steady 120A~ at engine idle (700rpm) when warm. It tested MUCH better than my Iraggi 220A and a "no name" 300A we had on hand. GREAT alternators and you can get them on ebay for under $100... IF it will work on your engine...

honestly though, for only 750 watts, I don't think you should have to do shit unless your alt is going bad or something...

EDIT: looks like the AD244 will work for you... some of the vehicles they came on, the bigger ones will generally have the 145A version, not the 130A. Personally the one I used was from a 2004 Suburban IIRC... got it on ebay for like $65 shipped and that is the one Beusings Iowa Generator tested for me. Out of 4 alts, the only one that beat the AD244 is my 300A O.G. alt with a much smaller aftermarket pulley on it and it beat it by like 50A all around IIRC.

(2005-03) AM General Hummer 6.0L

(2005-04) Buick Rainier 5.3L

(2004-02) Cadillac Escalade 5.3L, 6.0L

(2005-99) Chevrolet, GMC Pickup, SUV, Van 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.5L, 6.6L, 8.1L

(2005-03) Isuzu Ascender 5.3L

(2005) Saab 9-7X 5.3L

If I was you I would grab an AD244 and get a smaller pulley on it as well, that can be done for probably $100~ and would most likely be superior to the HO alt. the shop is offering for 3z the price...

i bet you have a bad battery cell or a weak battery. you do have them isolated with a large relay because they are different types of batterys rite?
Please elaborate on this as I have no idea what you mean by isolated. I have a wire from the front battery running to the positive terminal on this one and then a wire from the 600 to the amp. The ground is grounded to the body of the car. Sorry to sound like such a tard but I don't know a lot about this but that's why I have yous guys to help my dumb a$$ out.

Is the HC600 under the hood or in the back?
It's in the back. I do have a fuse btween the Kinetik and the amp. I'm going to unhook the battery and wire it straight to the amp to see if I notice a difference.
