Lifting my 08 Silverado LT2

Wonder if I should change the gearing in my sport trac after I add the supercharger.

Meh, I'm not going to worry about it since they still can't even tell me if the supercharger is compatible with the suv/truck 4.6L 3v v8. They claim that the structure is the same. The cam and timing may be different. I think the heads and intake are different. The intake doesn't matter since my kit would come with a new one. The ECM is completely different and would need a full custom tuning.

Seems like a huge pain in the rump this time. The F150 was easy because Roush already made everything.

The ride will **** and all that vibration is sent into your suspension instead of being partly absorbed/ mitigated by the tires. Thus your suspension will wear out very quickly resulting in tire cupping and uneven tire wear. You may even be voiding some factory warranty with that extreme a setup.
Good luck finding tires that exact size in the event of a flat.
is that directed at me or the thread poster?

pretty sure if you read it again you would see it was directed to the thread poster. I probably didn't make that very clear.

But yeah, not a fan of the huge rims on a truck like that. If you're going to lift it at least make it look like an offroad vehicle. When I see a truck with rims like that I just think that dude has more money than brains coupled with a small wang.

my thoughts exactly. it just bothers me when i see a lifted truck with 24s or 20s and the guy thinks hes a wheeler when the only thing hes been on is a dirt road at best. imo if your gonna the spend the money lifting a truck you should use it. function over form. i have a thread about my truck a couple threads down and i know my truck isnt the nicest but it will and has gone anywhere. ive gone threw pits that had mud up to the top of my wheel wells.

like i said just for looks. if you have the money, why not. why put all that money into a truck just go go **** it up in the mud. i like offroading but not in a vehicle that cost a lot and i drive everyday.

everyones entitled to their opinion and its your truck. i just have always had functionality over form. i beat on my truck every weekend but its still will clean up nice. not show quality but decent. i also just dont like kifts on a IFS truck. way to many problems. your gonna have so much more wear and tear on the components than you would think. im not trying to persuade you. its just ive been around trucks my whole life and i know chevy's better then any other brand.

why not use the current rims for your truck and just gett bigger tires go with 24's and 35's and 6 inch lift would look sweet

and yes gears make a whole worlds difference more power and much more gas mileage
