yeah there are speakers from the 70's and stuff still going, actually my grandma has one of those HUGE radios that just have one speaker, i think its from the 50's, it still works.

Umm I guess I will change my subaru hottie for you guys, was going to change it one day just never got around to it. Doesnt a ported box help increase the lifespan cause they dont have to work as hard. Chief

A lot of those old console radios are hellaciously good finds at swapmeets and such - not only did they have cool push/pull pentode amp stages, but those old folded horn cabinets often have better bass with one speaker than a lot of modern shelf stereo systems do with two channels.

I've got a PDF copied from an old '20s article about a 15" folded horn cabinet...one of these days I'm going to build the beast just to see how it works.

I've got a 15" KLH Home subwoofer that is about 10 years old now, still looks and sounds great, it's been abused quite a bit too, cant' believe I haven't blown it yet!

2 10" technics driver cabinet over 15 years old and still wangs, foam surround and paper cone too

I bought a set of Fosgate 'The Punch Classic' 8 Ohm SVC 10s from a pawn shop coz the guy wanted less than $50 for the pair. Used 'em for several years then sold them to my landlady. They're from the '92 model year and still play fine.

I have a set of 4-way Kenwood monitors, model KL-888z that I've had for about 10 years now and they were very, very used when I bought them. I don't know exactly how old they are but they still get extremely loud.
