Let's start this already!

i like everything except those screws holding your ground. that's the kind of shit i bitch about local shops doing.

Running 1/0 into a distro then 1/0 & 4 gauge out is not really a good idea, your sort of wasting wire on the 1/0 after the block, your much better off running individual wires like you did. Also don't doubt your 4 gauge run from your battery negative, not all chassis grounds are perfect and I recall reading somewhere that a lot of them were the equivalent of a 4 gauge wire as far as resistance so running a dedicated ground wire can only help your electrical system. I'm impressed that your starting off with a HO alt, that takes a lot of forward thinking. Most of the time we see new members trying to put together large systems on stock electrical and then complaining about dimming. Keep up the good work, I look forward to more pics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yea, I didn't wanna use em either, but they were the only short self tappers I had at the time.

Which kind would you suggest I change em to?

Awesome. Yea, I actually couldn't find much info on running a wire

from battery negative to ground block. Glad to hear it a good thing I did it.

This isn't my first system, just my first install. I've been into audio for like ten years, always lurked these boards, but never really posted.

Why are your L's gone for 30 days? MIP?
Nah, DUI. It was lame. I accept responsibly on it though, I was buzzed. Had a few beers for my buddies birthday, and was going home, made an illegal U-Turn. Got a gnarly lawyer though, he might be able to lower it to reckless driving. I'll find out in a few days.

i suggest finding a factory stud or bolt and going there. IMO self-tap screws just don't hold it tight enough. i drilled and welded in a bolt to the chassis for this.
Hm, alright. I'll look at it when I get home.

Got the alternator installed the other day.

When I did my big 3, I took a steel brush drill bit and cleaned all the crud off the frame. I followed the factory ground wire down there, and found a good spot. You can kind of see the factory bolt attached just above mine. I did it a couple weeks ago, and it's already rusting around it. What should I do about this? Take it off, reclean it, and spray it with a rustoleum or something?

F150. My first truck, always had cars before, I like it. Like sitting up higher then everyone else, it's just a pain to park, I always have to reverse and straighten up. And reversing out of spots, blows, backed into two cars the first week I got it, luckily didn't do any damage to either vehicle.
Fvck man you need to learn to drive hahaha... You need to get used to reverse, much much easier to back up into a spot with a truck... I just bought my first car and am not liking it much, had a truck exactly like yours before my Honda

^^^ 'Cause it's "better in reverse" lol.

Anyway, disconnect the chassis ground, clean it all up again, reconnect it, then spray it with a rust inhibitor. The ground connection will still be good and it'll be completely sealed off from the elements. I have yet to add my chassis ground to my car, but I have all the cables to do it. I'm going to do that with mine when I finally get some time to get around to it.

Haha, I know. I've been driving for 10 years, but this is my first truck. Had little cars before. I'm gettin' the hang of it now though.

Cool. I will do that in the next few days when I get a chance.

I'm basically just waiting on the box being built now. Fingers crossed, should be done by next weekend. iamamp3pimp is building it. So hopefully we will get a build log from him and we can watch it being made. Just blows now that I started a 30 day suspended driver's license today, 1 down, 29 to go.
