I came across a pair of Dell Optiplex sx270 and have been thinking of installing one in my passport along with a 7" touchscreen.

Benefits:

-internet

-music

-movies

-gps

-other maps/directions

approximate dimensions: 9.5"x9.5"x3"

anyone done anything like this and/or thoughts/opinions?

I have helped with one, its really all about mounting and hiding...but they seem to work pretty good, just make sure everything is accessible, and I would make sure that it dosent get too hot, perhaps buy an optional fan ??

The onboard cooling shouldn't be enough?

I have an actual M2-ATX power supply that you could put in there that has timed turn on, and remote turn on power leads if your interested. It came out of my carputer project. I'll let it go for cheap if your interested.

So I took that shit out and just threw in an Alpine head unit.

Both my main machines had the motherboards go belly-up this week. Im currently limping along on this stupid back up laptop. I hate laptops.

I actually have a plan for setting up the comp's power supply and bios to turn on and off with the key

that particular box is meant to be a RDC type computer. I don't think there's much actually in it???
