left speakers sound problem in polo

just replace the factory default radio in a 1999 polo with a 8.5" screen eonon 1022... but why are the left speakers only making a slight hissing/ whirring noise when the volume is even on 1?

you can urn the music up to drown it out but when a dvd plays it is really bad... the wiring looks very simple but since i canpt remove the pins from the loom is it a case of a new set of more powerful speakers to rectify the problem?
