Left Speakers Both Cut Out

Little backround:

I have an alpine cd player and 2 type s speakers running from the HU up front, and 2 stock speakers in the rear.

One day out of the blue the left side decided to stop working. When I fade all the way to the left, I can hear muffled scratching and popping sounds cutting in and out.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Speaker wire grounded maybe.

check your wiring if the wires are ok take the speaker out and test it on something else

Make sure you didnt route the factory wiring between where the window comes down at as if you rolled your window down it may have ripped the connector right off. Also you could swap speakers.

by any chance do u have a ipod cable hooked up to the unit?? only reason is i had this happenm to me bout 2 weeks ago and ut was doiug it for a week yurned out it was the ipod connecter that was inside of the ipod
