when i took out my old comps i noticed that my old MDF baffle in my drivers side door was rotted and moldy...so i pulled it out....took some MDF made a new baffle for the new comps to go into and put it in.. i rains for 2 days....i go back out today to put in my new comps and the new baffle is soaked...i found out that water is dripping into the door panel via the corner where the side view mirror is mounted

what do i do about this?

secondly...just for my ride home from school tomorrow...the cutout my new wet baffle was to big...so i could only mount 3/4 screws which means the speaker isnt completely sealed in the baffle....can i still play the speakers or should i hold off?

thanks guys if you can answer my 2 questions.

Your not going to hurt the comp if its not fully flush in the baffle by playing it. But, it sounds like you might have to pull the mirror off and seal it up.

theres a leak....for sure.

should i reach up through the speaker baffle and silicon that way...or take off the mirror and do it from the outside...

this is a lease also, so i could take it to the dealership but that is usually more time consuming and annoying than its worth...so im trying to avoid that.

Yeah there is. You can get it almost anywhere. Somebody used some on the outside of the mirrror on my Jeep before I got it. It was still noticeable standing right in front of it but from a few feet away, it's not really all that noticeable unless you're looking for it. Definitely less obvious than normal silicone.

cool ill give that a try....my roomate though, hes a mechanic/ been around cars his whole life...says i cant silicon there cause its gonna stop the window mechanism from going up and down

Ya, you should be able to fix it with silicone.

Pull the mirror off and just throw some on the gasket (most have gaskets at least). Should seal right up.

IDK, I noticed just by looking that there is a gap between where the weather stripping stops and the very front bottom corner of the front side window. That gap is present and exactly the same on both front windows. Wear is defenitely not the cause. It was made that way.

LAWL, its not going to affect the window if your siliconing the mirror. I would take the mirror off and do it the right way or just take it to the dealership......
