LC2i and an SQ2200 help

I have an LC2i and an SQ2200.1 I am hooking up and I need some help setting the gain and lc2i up properly. The lc2i can give up to 8v to the rca's and the amp is rated for 5v according to the gain adjustment. In reading through the instructions and from what I've read online I'm to adjust the lc2i until the maximized light flickers then back it off slightly.

Will doing this send too much voltage through the rca to the amp and will it hurt the amp? I'm trying to maximize my output while remaining unclipped. When I have the lc2i set just below maximized and I adjust the gain slightly I can read 46-47v on the output with my DMM which gives me my 2200 watts @ 1ohm with a dynamic reading just over 50.8v on the test sequence tonal sweep I was using.

My sub is set to arrive in the 24th so I'm trying to get my amp dialed in with a multimeter before install. I have a 12" sp4 that shipped out and will be arriving soon so I'm getting prepared for it.

Any ideas, help, and experience would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying I do my proper research and came to a crossroad where it's time to ask for help. Not looking for the "I'm entitled to you doing all my work for free and expecting great results based on your work," answer as is far too common these days. I've done my homework and come to a point where I could use some expert advise.

I hate lci 2 for that very reason. If you sent 8v to inputs only rated at 5v, youll blow the inputs. Be careful, i personally set my accubass to about 1/3 and then i set the bass signal basicly as low as i can.

I'll have to give audio control a call later today. I'm trying to figure out if it's better to have the lc2i putting out a higher signal or if I should turn it down and have the amp gain up slightly higher to compensate.

I hate having two pieces of equipment that both control a similar thing and are dependent upon each other. My thinking is that gain as low as possible will lead to less distortion. I don't know if I'll be introducing distortion thought the lc2i by turning it up more to keep the amp gain low.

I switched from a Monster FX100 which is up to 8 volts. On my DD1 I was getting distortion with minimum volume. Switched to the LC2i and no distortion at all. Completely cleaned up my signal.
