I am looking at picking up a new laptop, and was curious because I see 'computer' related threads all the time...

Anyone know of a good site/location to grab one up at?

I want to stay below $1000 and need it to read/write DVDs, hold a fairly large amount of media, and have a graphics card that can play moderate to high quality video (and games?)

Also, anyone know anything about using teh laptop to stream digital TV?

For under $1,000, you won't be able to get a laptop that can play today's games fluently in high quality.

x2 on the dell outlet. Ebay is good too if you know exactly what you want.

After a lot of looking around, I ended up picking this up tonight.

I had $250 in gift cards that I put towards it.

So far, it's pretty slick for a $700 laptop!

Hush n00b. Just because you don't know how to use and care for a computer, don't knock a brand just because you don't like it. I have owned 2 Dell laptops. First one I had for 6 years. I still own the second one.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Dell, OP. Also check out HP and Acer. Plus, there is always a MacBook for ya!
