hey im new to this forum so i just want to say whats up and say many thank yous for having such a forum ... here is my problem ... im running two crossfire p1 dvc to a lanzar vibe 250 amplifier at 4 ohms mono ... the **** amplifier goes to protection when i crank it up ... whats up with that ... i ran these subs to my boys 2000 fosgate amp in his chevy geo and it did 153db... any help? or is it just the amp?

sounds to me the problem is that the voice coils add up to less than 4-ohm. did you check the wiring of the subs? what ohm vioce coils are they?

im running them series/parallel ... i know they are at 4ohms at the wire cause i checked at least 15 different times ...

crossfire p1 dvc (4 ohms each coil)

dude i had a 4 channel lanzar vibe 430 bridged pushing my 4 ohm subs for a while. i know the subs are 4 ohm because i had em amped up with a 4 ohm amp and it was fine. i know the vibe 430 bridged is 4 ohm too ... anyway, the amp went into protection mode! i dont know why but i know it sure is a pain in the ***... my new lanzar viberant amp is bridged at 4 ohms with 4 gauge wire (the other amp was 10 gauge) and it doesnt go into protection ... the only thing i can say is try bigger wire ... or just get a new amp ... F#*$@ing lanzar!!!

running all four channels bridged and running the amp hard will cause problems for just about ANY "budget" amp. You can't expect a $150 amp to do a $300 amp's job. It's nice to know the thermal protection circuit on the Vibe does what it's supposed to do. An amp of lesser quality construction may have just burnt up.

That is why lanzar makes OPTIDRIVES

running a 4 channel amp bridged means that each channel is supporting a 1ohm load, and a lanzar vibe cant do that...along with most amps.
