Haven't used the old stuff but the new is not bad imo, i wish they would get rid of the legacy rebranded crap like the vector, heritage series, max amps, everything else is decent.

I've been running a ~'00 opti1000.1d for over 10 yrs now. It's been nothing but reliable.

I agree with you on the non-opti stuff.

I discussed this exact issue with Sound Around's marketing director several years ago (when the first black Vibes amps came out) through a few lengthy emails. It seems my efforts didn't go far.

At the end of the day, it's a lot easier to lie about the capability of a cheap amp and sell it to an idiot than to be honest about the ability of a quality, more expensive amp and sell it to someone that knows what they're dealing with.

I could draw a parallel with a certain political party, but...nah.

Yeah but just say what the amps really do if it only does 300 watts that's fine there is a 300 watt market out there, that gains respect in my book

They are very tightly regulated, from 11v -16v there's but one watt of difference. THD is. 01%, S/N is >105dB, 250w x 2 @ 4 ohms, 500 x was @ 2 ohms, or 1000 x 1 @ 4 ohms. It'll do about 1500 x 1 @ 2 ohms but you better have a very stout electrical system and a fan on the amp is a must per LANZAR. These amps are not over rated by much, in fact the one 500 I see in a review did 1030w x 1 @ 4 ohms. I have all the reviews I could find posted at DIYmobileaudio.
