Lanzar HTG668BT 4000w amp fired? Or?

I know I screwed up buy this amp. But I have it now and short of getting myself in a bit of trouble I can't take it back to the jerk I bought it from and get my $$ or different amp or something. And I got alot of stuff for what I spent. Even made money back off some of the stuff. Plus I didn't know about this forum before, now when I see something I might was I can look it up here for the real info, not some BS someone wrote to make sales. Anyways, anyone have any actual advice on what maybe wrong with this amp, cuz regardless of it being junk I now have it and would like to fix and use it until I can get better.

do like my lil Dual 460 it's definitely making 300w+ on it's bridge.
It might, but doubtful... It's got enough fuses, even if it's a odd 42..

For $180 you could get a Precision Power P1000.1D You can pick it up on amazon for $160 and will get you 1200W Rms

Or you could get a 1600W CAB, for $199.

As for Subs, depends on your budget. I'd do a single FU750 DVC 2ohm 12($169) ported on the p1000.1D, all in for $329 and destroy the **** you've been running.

thats very good advise.. FU is made in us too, i guy here has 8, destroyed his windshield

Wow, the FU750 18" looks like a friggin beast... I think those might be what I want. At $199 it seems like a steal. I'll just keep that off to the side in my head. But getting an amp to push them isn't gonna be cheap tho I bet.

2x FU750-18", $398.Alphard Sound Machete M2000D, $278

30' Ft. OFC 0g AWG, $75

2x 12v Sealed batteries (Reconditioned) 2yr warranty, $70

Still debating on a 3 or 4 Farad cap... Heard good,
No store bought cap is good.

You need a alternator for that power not a cap. Stop listening to whoever told you they are good.

How does this sound:

2x FU750-18" - $398

Alphard Sound Machete M2000D - $278

35' Ft 0g awg OFC Wire - $90 (Big 3 Upgrade plus amp run)

2x 12v Sealed Batteries (Reconditioned) - $90 w/ 2Yr Warranty

$860 total putting me in under budget plus I'll make $200-$250 off all the stuff I got now.

What do you guys think of that setup? Would still be entry level gear, at least it looks like quality stuff (subs and amp)

Idk what to do for a box maybe dual labyrinth port?

Or just get 2 or 3 sheets of 8'x4' 3/4" Beechwood and make my own. I'm sure I could find plans for a good box for those subs.

To the cap statement was supposed to be "Heard good, but alot more bad stuff about them. That they are pointless pretty much and if you Big 3, add extra battery, and put a hi output alternator instead of doing a cap."

looking a lot better. No cap they dont do anything when it comes to higher power setups, use that money towards the big 3 upgrade and a well designed box. If you have tools, all you need is a good design/ blueprint and you can just have home depot make the cuts, take it home, glue and screw together, then borrow a jigsaw and cut the sub holes and voila your first custom built enclosure.

Do not buy anything pre-made, its not gonna get you loud.

With the 18s, you can choose dual 4 which can wire parallel down to 1 ohm or dual 2 which wires down to half ohm, the alphard amp can handle half ohm but you'll want to be careful. If you want to play it safe i'd get dual 4s

Well I was looking at Hi Output alts and they are all $400 and up... That will have to come a few months later, either when I get more hours at work or when next semesters school money comes maybe I can get one then.

i'd say if your AGM batteries are decent you wont need a high output alt unless you choose to wire to half ohm. SUV alts are pretty decent stock, you can just get away with a few batts and the big 3 upgrade if you are only running 2k at 1 ohm

Well my alternator is putting out 13.6v, how do I get up to the 14.4v that these amps want for their rated power level? Or is that what the Big 3 will fix? I'm not too worried about that tho.

I know I said I want to try an go to some SPL bass comps, but that's much further down the line.
@Jeff sorry we got off to a bad start man thanks for letting me know what's up about the stuff that's out there tho.
@bigblank69 thanks for the recommendation on the FU750 those are exactly like what I been wanting and look like they'll blow anything I've ever used outta the water by a mile and at a price I can actually afford. I seen some of these subs are like $899-$1499 each which I'd never buy em anyway.

Big 3 will not fix voltage, it will help with amperage. Find out what your alternator is SUPPOSED to put out, and see if you need a new alt. Most Alts are 14.4, but I know some Honda and Toyota's had alts that had 13.8V Alts.

if the stock connections and wire gauges were inadequate, overall idle voltage can increase along with lower voltage drops. I've seen it happen, not often but here and there. Most of the times is a voltage regulator issue on gm cars if they cant get higher charging rates.

when playing music and pushing the equipment hard, you'll have voltage drop no matter what, the most important thing is to keep your voltage above 12 volts to keep your amp safe. paying 500+ dollars for a high output alt just to get 100ish extra watts is not really worth it in my opinion. Not unless you have plans to get a much bigger amp 3k watts and up then yes definitely get a high output alt. My old setup ran a starter agm and two AGM in the trunk on 2.5k for a few years with no issues on a stock 80 amp corolla alt.
